Britain No 2 Aljaz Bedene is through to the second round of the Acapulco Open yet Heather Watson bowed out at the main obstacle.
Bedene won through in Mexico when his adversary Ivo Karlovic resigned amid their match, which the Slovenia-conceived Brit was winning 6-4 1-2.
Huge serving Karlovic hauled out of his fourth round meeting with Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open in January with a knee harm.
